NYX Powder Blush Cinnamon Review and Swatches

I have a particular fondness for tangerine shades! With a collection that already boasts an assortment of tangerine blushes and lipsticks, I couldn’t resist adding the NYX Powder Blush in Cinnamon to my makeup arsenal.

NYX Powder Blushes are a beloved choice at drugstores, favored by both beauty enthusiasts and novices alike due to their combination of affordability and quality.

This American brand offers an extensive range of products, including options for lips, face, eyes, nails, and makeup tools, catering to a diverse palette of colors.

The range features both cream and powder blushes, available in finishes such as matte, satin, shimmer, and glitter, suitable for everything from casual to formal occasions.

These NYX Powder Blushes are designed to provide a sheer, silky application that seamlessly blends into the skin.

The formula promises a stunning, natural radiance, enriched with highly pigmented color that endures over time.

There are 24 shades in the powder blush line, and I chose ‘Cinnamon,’ described as a ‘matte bright orange.’

Upon receiving this blush online, my initial impression was that it didn’t fit the description of a ‘matte bright orange’ at all.

This blush showcases an orange hue with pronounced warm pink undertones and contains shimmer rather than the matte finish advertised.

A true matte orange would lean towards a bold, carrot-like color, yet NYX Cinnamon offers a delicate, shimmery soft pinkish-orange effect on the cheeks, making it less intense.

The orange flush is subtle, resulting in a gentle, everyday blush look instead.

The blush has a very soft and powdery texture; while it comes off as intensely pigmented in the first application, blending it reveals a much softer finish.

NYX Cinnamon is a versatile shade that pairs beautifully with brown eyeliner, mascara, and a hint of tangerine on the lips.

However, I do not support its claim of long-lasting wear; in a warm and humid setting, it may struggle to hold up for even three hours.

For those with oily skin, using a primer under your foundation and setting powder before applying the blush is crucial for extended wear.

Individuals with dry skin might notice the blush becoming patchy, so a good moisturizer prior to application is essential.

NYX Powder Blush can be easily applied with any blush brush and allows for buildable coverage to achieve your desired look.

Priced at $5 (I snagged mine online during a 50% off sale for just $2.50), the packaging is surprisingly decent.

The black plastic case, while not the most robust, is sturdily made, and its flip-top lid enhances usability.

If you’re in search of a blush that delivers a soft, shimmery effect with a subtle orange note, this could be your ideal pick.

On the other hand, if you’re after a bold orange blush, NYX Cinnamon may not meet your expectations.
